Abaya dresses. Jilbabs are more fashionable and western looking long coat like dresses that cover the body. Most women wear Jilbab over regular clothing.

Jilbabs and abayas are common Islamic clothing for women. Though they are popular in the Middle East countries and other Muslim world, the concept of wearing jilbabs and abayas is much debated in the Western World. However, it is the strong influx of the Muslim leaders that has made these apparels common on the streets of several western cities.Jilbabs are long robes and are used as outer garment. They come with separate arms that are stitched to the body of the cloth. The over garments are available in various styles and colors. You can have black outer garments that are pinstriped with different color. They also come in subtle colors with detail pinstripe work on the cuffs. These types of Islamic garments also come with hoods. In fact, the hooded Jilbabs look smart enough for both office and casual wear. In addition, you can incorporate several other styles into this cloth such as ruffles, frills, pleats, cuffed sleeves, flares and laces. These clothes are also available in bold colors which look very trendy. Such colors include lilac, pink, burgundy, shades of green and teal. Some of these outer garments are have ruffles on their sleeves and neckline.

You can even get jilbabs with bell shaped arms. The gypsy style jilbabs are very much prize for their look and feel. They have frills on their base hem as well as on the sleeves and come with warm color patterns and contemporary style patterns printed. However, it is better to go for dark colored over garments for day to day wear.On the other hand, abayas are long black clocks and cover everything below your shoulder apart from hands and feet. The sleeves are not stitched to the main body. They are actually formed as one piece. These kinds of garments are more common among the Middle Eastern khaleeji women. They come with embroidery work on their base hem, neck and sleeves. They are usually available in light materials. Abayas made from lexus crepe, which is a polyester type of material, are generally cheap. But those made from satin materials and internet crepe are fairly expensive. They can be either closed or open fronted with buttons. These days, abayas are becoming more stylish and are available in geometric and floral patterns. You can also have over garments that are embroidered with golden threads, multi colored crystals, sequins and beads. These patterns are usually added onto base, neckline and bodice. The flowing flared sleeves of these garments also come with tassel and look very trendy and elegant.

Abayas Are in Vogue. The current Bride Show in Abu Dhabi has seen an impressive collection of embellished abayas.

The recent Bride Show in Abu Dhabi has seen an impressive collection of embellished abayas. Two of them from Oshia Fashion Design were ultra luxurious and extremely stunning and were worth Dh 100,000 each. Abayas by Smooth Lady, Beauty Queen and Princess were also showcased in this show. Thus, we see that the world of fashion has open handedly accepted this ethnic Islamic wear. What originally started off as a traditional Muslim wear for ladies to cover themselves up completely in front of other men, is now been incorporated into the fashion world as a new trend.

Abayas are used to cover everything below the shoulders, only one’s palms and feet are left bare. Traditionally these were available in black, but with changing times even the Muslim community has lost some of its rigidity and hence, they are also available in vibrant colors these days. These have been accepted by women of different regions too, and you will find women wearing them even in western countries where these are known as kaftans. These are in demand and are very comfortable too.

Abaya is a loose fitting, black outer garment worn by Muslim women. Al-Karam Qadri is a famous brand of Abayas.

Abayas are made in many different ways and with many different designs. A lot of the influence of the design, colour and material comes from the geographic location of where the abaya is made or worn.An abaya made in Turkey for the local market will ideally have at the least one area of the abaya that has a printed design. The abaya material will be shiny or have a very smooth surface such as using a satin material. The material of the abaya will also be quite thick and of high quality. It is also common to design abayas in the shape of coatsAn abaya in the United Arab Emirates made for the local market will be of a very light material and have a light and bright colour. Many of the abayas will be very shiny and have beaded or stone work done onto the abaya. Tassels would also be used along the joints or at the edges. The abayas usually tend to match the khimar or headscarf in this case and are made of the same material as the actual abaya. In India or Pakistan the abaya if made for the local market will be black in colour and of cotton material normally.

The abaya would have embroidery in dark colours such as maroon and navy blue. There would also be patch work with a shiny material mostly on the sleeves and collars. The embroidery is mostly done on the arms and at the bottom of the abaya. An abaya worn in Indonesia would be of a very light colour and made mainly of cotton. The khimar to match the abaya would be a very large size. It is common to use cutwork rather than embroidery to create a design on abayas in Indonesia. The abaya is very popular in Indonesia and is worn by thousands of Muslim women there. In Egypt the abaya would be made of a very light material but in very bright colours. The Egyptians are very well known for their creativity in styling abayas. The materials used could be from silk, polyester to cotton and georgette. The abayas have loads of tassels and laces on the sleeves and the back area. This helps loosen the abya even more if required. The sleeves are usually more loose and longer. Some abayas in Egypt even have gloves attached to it that can be worn or tucked into the sleeves.Abayas are worn using various styles around the world and the variety keeps increasing. In Europe and the US many styles have been adapted by Muslims and new styles have also been created under the label of jilbabs. The motive of all Islamic dresses irrespective of location or origin is the same, to dress modestly

For a beauty look that absolutely won't go unnoticed – a winged liner in a bright spring colour is the perfect way to add a pop-art mod touch to any outfit.

Brightly coloured liquid eyeliner.

For a beauty look that absolutely won’t go unnoticed – a winged liner in a bright spring colour is the perfect way to add a pop-art mod touch to any outfit. Team with equally bold pink lips and some back-combed hair for ultimate 1960s sex kitten appeal.

mod 60s makeup

For this shoot by Kelly Defina, makeup artist Leonie Karagiannis used a vibrant yellow liquid liner. You can also experiment with other bold colours – like violet, emerald green, turquoise or tangerine. The key is to line the colour next to black cat eye liner to define the eye and keep it classic with a twist.

1. Start with at flawless base. Apply a powder blush at the apples of the cheeks, lightly blending up along the higher planes of the cheeks then blending softer to the hairline.

2. Lightly conceal the outer edges of the eyes to keep them looking fresh and to provide a base for the eye liner.

3. Apply the black liquid liner first using a fine brush. Start by lining the inner corner of the eyes and winging 3/4 of the way up the mobile lid, elongating at the edges.

4. Next apply the coloured liquid liner, in this case a yellow liner gel, closely following the shape of the black liner.

5. Apply a set of full bar lashes to thicken the lash line for a truly mod makeup look. Make sure you cut the lashes to size.

6. Add a light cream shadow with a hint of sheen to open up the eyes.
